About Dr. Somaia Mohamed

Mental Health Image

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine and a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience providing therapy, as well as training and supervising therapists both in the U.S. and abroad.

With extensive expertise across a range of psychological theories, techniques, and evidence-based practices, I have long been captivated by the intricate workings of the mind. The connection between mind and body is profound—shaping our interactions, motivations, and emotional experiences in ways we often don't consciously recognize.

While some continue to dismiss psychology as pseudoscience, my work has consistently demonstrated the undeniable power of the mind to influence both physical health and emotional well-being. The phrase “mind over matter” isn’t just a cliché—it reflects the extraordinary ways our thoughts shape our lives.

Whether you are facing a major life stressor, navigating a mental health challenge, or seeking guidance to move forward with greater clarity and purpose, I am here to help.
